Inujima Seirensho Art Museum
Inujima Seirensho Art Museum is a museum that preserves and reuses the remains of a copper refinery on the island designated as one of the “Heritage Constellations of Industrial Modernization” by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Based on the concepts of heritage, architecture, artwork, and environment, the museum blends the architecture of Hiroshi Sambuichi, which uses natural energies and local materials, with the artwork of Yukinori Yanagi inspired by the image of Yukio Mishima, a novelist who warned of Japan’s process of modernization.
