Emotions springing forth from Shodoshima expressed as the movement of water
In 2017, the artist Kim Kyoung-Min won the grand prize at the 27th Ube Biennale, which collaborates with the Setouchi Triennale (p.272).
This year she was invited to the Triennale to present a new piece, a metal sculpture deeply rooted in Shodoshima. The artist converted emotions that sprouted from island spaces into words and dropped them into the water of the imagination, then captured in metal an image of water flowing into the spaces from which those emotions sprang.
